As the Second Wine of the renowned Château Nénin, Fugue de Nénin captures the essence and finesse of Pomerol at a more accessible stage. It is a superb introduction to the Right Bank’s Merlot-dominant style, offering both immediate drinking pleasure and the structure for moderate cellaring. It embodies the ‘fugue’ – a harmonious repetition of the Grand Vin’s main theme.

Tasting Notes (Typical Vintage)

• Colour: A deep, attractive garnet with purple tints.
• Nose: Richly aromatic, displaying a core of concentrated black fruits (plum, dark cherry) complemented by classic Pomerol notes of earth, violets, and a hint of fine new cedar oak.
• Palate: Smooth and velvety on the palate, with a medium-to-full body and beautifully refined tannins. The wine is balanced by a refreshing acidity, maintaining elegance through a persistent finish of mocha and spice. A wine of great charm and immediate appeal.

Serving Suggestion

Best served slightly cooler than room temperature, around 17°C. This is a wonderfully sophisticated accompaniment to a Sunday roast or a premium cheese board.
