The wine’s clay-limestone soil, similar to its famous Saint-Émilion neighbour, yields a concentrated, powerful, and impeccably structured claret that excels in the Castillon appellation.

Tasting Notes (Typical Vintage Profile)

• Appearance: A deep, near-opaque garnet hue.
• Nose: Rich and complex, offering a heady mix of dark black fruits (plum, cassis), layered with cigar box, sweet spice, and a pronounced, refreshing minerality.
• Palate: The wine is full and plush, delivering a dense core of fruit supported by firm, yet beautifully integrated, velvety tannins. It offers superb concentration and balance, culminating in a very long, satisfying, and mineral-driven finish.

Pairing & Service

Clos Lunelles is a superb, age-worthy wine. Decanting for an hour or two is highly recommended when young. Serve slightly cool at 16°C (60°F) to enhance its freshness and structure.
