The Domaine Lafarge Vial Côte de Brouilly represents a sophisticated, terroir-driven expression of Gamay. Cultivated with the rigorous standards of Biodynamics, the wine draws its unique character from the volcanic ‘blue granite’ soils of the Côte. This is Cru Beaujolais elevated to the status of fine Burgundy, thanks to the expertise of Frédéric and Chantal Lafarge.

Tasting Notes (Reference Vintage)

• Colour: A deep, vibrant garnet.
• Aroma: A refined bouquet of concentrated black fruit (damson, wild cherry) and complex floral tones of iris and crushed violets, complemented by a subtle, flinty minerality and a hint of spice.
• Taste: The palate is rich and concentrated, with a beautiful structure and a backbone of fine, persistent tannins. It displays a perfect harmony between the Gamay’s inherent freshness and the depth gained from the old vines, leading to a long and memorable finish.

Serving Suggestions

Decant briefly and serve at a cool cellar temperature (15°C) to appreciate its layered complexity. A versatile red that shines with traditional European fare.
