Vérité La Joie – Sonoma County – Red – 2019 – 3000 ml:
The Vérité La Joie is Vérité’s flagship Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend, crafted by French vigneron Pierre Seillan. Inspired by the Grand Crus Classés of Pauillac, this Sonoma County fine wine offers a masterful blend of Californian fruit power and classic Bordeaux structure.
A Californian Masterpiece with a French Soul
La Joie is born from a complex mosaic of over 50 micro-crus scattered across the Mayacamas Mountains. This unique approach, known as the “Droit du Sol” (Right of the Soil), ensures a depth and complexity rarely found outside the great châteaux of the Médoc. It is a bottle for the serious collector.
Tasting Notes: Structure and Elegance
- Colour: A saturated, deep garnet-purple, hinting at its immense concentration.
- Nose: Intense and layered, with ripe blackcurrant, black cherry, pencil lead, and sophisticated notes of menthol and cedar from the new French oak.
- Palate: Full-bodied and beautifully structured. It features abundant, powdery tannins and a refreshing acidity that perfectly balances the rich black fruit. Expect a tenacious, long finish with hints of dark chocolate and iron.
Serving & Pairing for the Connoisseur
To fully appreciate its coiled complexity, we recommend decanting La Joie for at least two hours. Serve slightly cool at cellar temperature (16-18°C).
- Pairings: Traditional Sunday Roast Lamb with Rosemary and Garlic, a rich Game Pie (Venison/Pheasant), or a strong, mature English cheese like Stilton.
